Job Summary:
Job Duties and Scopes
- Conduct research on accreting compact objects and their extreme environments.
- Model interactions of X-rays with surrounding gas and analyze observational data.
- Develop tools and techniques for astrophysical problems, including black hole spin measurement and photoionization modeling.
- Focus on high-resolution spectroscopy, timing analysis, and polarization modeling.
Required Skills
- Expertise in astrophysical modeling and numerical methods for radiative transfer.
- Proficient in statistical techniques such as spectral fitting and Bayesian inference.
- Familiarity with advanced machine-learning algorithms for spectral fitting.
Required Experiences
- Relevant research experience in astrophysics, specifically related to compact objects and high-energy radiation.
- Experience with observational data analysis and modeling techniques in X-ray astronomy.
- Preferably, prior work on projects involving black holes or astrophysical plasmas.
